Smith's Farmstay, near Laura in the beautiful Southern Flinders Ranges, has magnificent river red gums along the creek, acres of Australian trees and shrubs and loads of space to play and explore. It's comfy for two, yet big enough for a group of people.
There are marked walks and four wheel drive trails on the farm, a cycling track via Laura and Stone Hut passes right by the gate and the Heysen and Mawson Trails are not far away. Children love to feed the farm animals and the sights and sounds of a crackling bonfire under the stars are very popular with all generations. On-farm mountain bike trails and hosted catch and release fishing tours will be available in 2012.
The Smith farm is out of the way but not hiding; in fact there's an uninterrupted view over the valley for fantastic sunrises and the summer sunsets through the trees are spectacular.
